R. Matthew Schroeder

Matthew Schroeder is a Shareholder at the firm and his practice centers around counseling individuals and families on wealth transfer and estate planning; federal estate, gift and generation-skipping tax planning; estate and trust administration; and business succession planning. In so doing, Matthew often utilizes revocable living trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts, and irrevocable life insurance trusts as estate planning tools that promote wealth preservation and asset protection. Matthew also helps families achieve their goals by creating family limited liability companies, implementing succession planning, and providing operational advice that relates to those companies.

Matthew lives in La Grange Park and sits as a member of the Board of Directors for La Grange Park Little League, Share Food Share Love Food Pantry, and the Village Field Club of La Grange Park. Matthew is also the former Vice-Chair (2020-2021) and Chair (2021-2022) of the Tax Law Section of the DuPage County Bar Association. Matthew earned his B.A. from Wright State University, J.D. from Valparaiso University, and M.S.A. from DePaul University.

Matthew lives in LaGrange Park with his wife, Ashley, their two sons, Henry and Harrison, and their dogs, Billie and Charlie. In his free time, Matthew enjoys trips to Wisconsin and coaching youth football and baseball.
